
Started working with Derek towards the end of 2016 where I needed to prepare for a tournament in Sweden. With only 7 months to continue with my preparations I opted for his new “X-Body” workout system which engages all of the major muscle groups during the session.
To cut a long story short, his training along with the team training resulted in me being in excellent physical condition. I have stuck with the X-Body system ever since. I personally feel I get more out of my sessions. The system can be very tough at times since he can control it’s intensity. And I mean INTENSE — ouch!!
As a professional, Derek is very detail orientated with regards to my form during work outs to avoid injury and to ensure the correct muscles are activated. He spends time explaining in terms that are understandable what the exercise is intended to achieve.
Another example of detail: my tournament training sessions leading up to they tournament were switched to 5:00 am to match the time difference in Sweden. I moaned at first, but this proved to be an excellent decision and showed real commitment by Derek which meant I did not suffer any jet lag issues.
He has helped me through numerous injuries and worked with instructions provided by my physiotherapists.
Derek is also able to provide nutritional advice. My wife and I have done his “28 Day Challenge” where we lost 10 lbs each during that program. We are doing it again to rid ourselves of our COVID excesses.
Our sessions can be rather lively with rather interesting conversations. And, you will definitely become familiar with 70’s “First Wave” music. It’s all great fun.
